ABC OF MASKS | WHAT'S AND WHAT'S NOT TO DO
There has been extensive discussion about the effectiveness of face masks against Covid-19. Since the spread of the virus via aerosols is seen as the greatest danger, the mouth mask is now established and almost indispensable. The face mask is of little value if not used properly. Proper use is in all cases combined with a distance of 1.5 meters from another person from a different household. Here are some reminders about the correct use of face masks:
What masks
DO
Mask fits well on the side of the face, without gaps
Mask has a nose clip to prevent air escape
Complete coverage of your nose and mouth
2 or more layers, easy to breathe through, even with washable masks
DO NOT
Mask with valve or vent
Mask that is difficult to breathe through, for example vinyl or with covering printing
A "face shield" alone is not sufficient
How not to wear your mask
Under your nose
On your forehead
On your chin
Around your neck
Only on your nose
Dangling on one ear
Children
MANDATORY FROM 13 YEARS
Make sure the mask is an appropriate size for children
NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS
No mask for baby and toddler
How to handle your mouth mask
WEAR UP TO 3 HOURS
Wear a mask for up to 3 hours and less if breathing becomes more difficult
DISPOSE OF IN TRASH
Face masks are not good for the environment and clog up the sewer, only throw them away in bins
How to take off your mask
Carefully remove the mask by removing the elastic bands from the ears
Only touch the straps and not the mask itself
Fold the outer corners together
Wash hands thoroughly immediately after taking off
